Last Saturday, August 24, 2024, the Adamson University Psychological Society held its annual Pinning Ceremony titled “Fight the Good Fight, Keep the Faith as You Finish the Race” to honor the 4th-year Psychology students as they proceed with their clinical internships.
In collaboration with the Psychology Department, the ceremony took place once again in the Adamson University Theatre. It was graced by the presence of not just the 4th-year Psychology students and their parents and guardians, but also an array of professors, speakers, and performers who showcased their talent and wisdom. The Masters of Ceremony, Ms. Cecille Valero, the Internal Deputy for Vice Presidential Affairs of AUPS, and Ms. Chenelle Ashley Palileo, the Executive President of the Adamson Junior Marketing Association (AdJMA), introduced the event. The program began with the National Anthem and the Adamson University Hymn, performed live in the theatre by the Campus Ministry Ensemble of Adamson University.
AUPS Adviser Ms. Hazel Joy Mendoza delivered the event’s opening remarks, reflecting on how life’s trials cultivate strength of will and creative thinking. Meanwhile, guest testimonial speaker Mr. Rainier S. Ladic, founder of the educational webpage “The Juan Psychologist” and current professor at NU Clark, shared his experiences on trekking the path of psychology. Preceding the pinning proper were performances by GRAVITY SET-ADU, who energized the audience with their intermission song numbers.
Following the pinning proper, guest inspirational speaker Mr. Melvin Magalino, the Youth Coordinator of Elevate San Pedro, encouraged the students to let their purpose motivate them and bring them together. AUPS Assistant Secretary Argelle Esguerra then led the 4th-year students through the Oath-Taking Ceremony, with AUPS President Iedsif Croain Cadano delivering her Words of Gratitude. Finally, psychology professor Mr. Charles Vince Saniel concluded the event with his closing remarks, thanking all guest speakers and wishing the 4th-year students well as they open a new chapter of their lives.
AUPS also welcomed Silip@Lente - Adamson University, The Adamson Chronicle, and its sub-organization AUPS Paragon as media partners in documenting the event and the students’ pinning proper.
“Fight the Good Fight, Keep the Faith as You Finish the Race” celebrates the hard work and determination of this year’s graduating Psychology students as they wrap up their college life. In line with the ceremony’s theme, the speakers expressed their faithful sentiments regarding God’s plan and values as they inspired the attending future interns to take a leap of faith into their careers.
