The Expeditionary Corps recruits members from across the Great Lakes Coalition with only one thing in common: a desire to fight. While Conclave reports claim only the most serious of fighters make up the partisan force, in truth they seek to recruit anyone willing to pick up a weapon and sail off to Bargetown.
Expeditionaries, also known as 'Solos', come from all sorts of walks of life, with variety of reasons as to why they fight for Bargetown—valiant citizens wanting to protect their hometown, materialistic mercenaries waiting to be paid for their efforts, fugitives hoping for a way out, self-proclaimed "heroes" wanting recognition, profiteers who lost their business due to the war, or even discharged servicemen who decided to pick up their rifles again—all of them unite under the banner of Coalition in the fight against its enemies.
These are only a few of the possible archetypes your partisan could fulfill and you are welcome to come up with your own.

The Black Dogs are a semi-decentralised, enigmatic group of pro-Triumvirate loyalists who hope to re-create the government they idolise (and somewhat worship) on the Sunrise Isles. In official records, they are labeled as "Yankee expatriates" and Coalition residents of the Northeast diaspora who swore to defend their new home by taking themselves to a new front. Seeking refuge within Coalition territory, these individuals, originating from diverse backgrounds, are driven by an intense loyalty to a lost cause and a lost regime overthrown by the Usurper General. They are mostly made up of people from all walks of life, united to turn a dream into something more; to create a utopia for themselves on the Isles.
Like others before them, they have taken inspiration from the fallen soldiers who fought to the bitter end. In the case of the Black Dogs, they took their motifs from the mystic 7th Triumvir Guard, wearing their patches and taking up their old name. The ragtag militant group religiously values and wears culturally significant symbols and indulges in artistic iconography of their lost homeland. Relying on the guidance of "war shamans", they live by the old-world creed of patriotism, justice, and representation to build their own governing society, and possibly even rebuilding their homeland with the helping hand of the Coalition.

The Sea Bees are the name given to a group of disgruntled tradesmen, dockhands, and shipwrights upset at the Midwest Union’s disturbance of trade throughout Lakes Erie and Huron. Named after the pre-war United States Naval Construction Battalion, the group bears very little semblance to its namesake of organised navy builders besides their hands-on trade skills.
Consisting mainly of blue-collar workers looking to escape the mounting issues found in the neutral towns of the Coalition, most lack formal training in anything but factory work and repair jobs. Most partisans have no experience firing weapons beyond handguns and bolt-action rifles passed down between generations. Members pride themselves on their logistical capabilities and prefer building fortifications, laying barbed wire, and creating minefields rather than engaging in open combat roles.

The Venerand Security Association is the "premiere" fighting force of the Venerand Trade Guild, founded during the Huron War to protect its property and assets. The VSA has been in operation for almost a decade, acting as the catalyst for Venerand's rapid expansion across the Coalition. A notoriously corrupt force well known for its debauchery, cutthroat practices, and poor discipline, the Venerand Security Association is a physical embodiment of the infamous “Erie Elite”. Around a month ago, infamous Cleveland mobster and Venerand enforcer Salvatore Padrino was discovered to have been siphoning money away from the guild. While in normal circumstances he would have been fired and persecuted by city, Padrino was instead given a mission to redeem himself. He was to venture north to the Sunrise Islands with whoever he could drag off the street to follow him, and bring it under the influence of Venerand. Trailed by a band of mafiosos, strikebusters and opportunists, Padrino's "army" prepares to make a killing on the islands—or die trying.

The Ardorists are the paramilitary arm of the Renewalist Movement and the means by which it puts its ideals into practice outside of the government. Formed originally as a club for Titus Akron's closest followers, it has reformed into an organisation that exercises the will of the movement through force. The Ardorists stand as the most devoted followers of Renewalism and those who are willing to sacrifice the most for it. Though their primary purpose is to serve as a corps of bodyguards, they have come to be used as a force for the perpetuation of Renewalist propaganda and political agitation among the people of Bargetown, loudly and without shame, attempting to rally Bargetown's people to their cause. Many Ardorists are from the ranks of Bargetown's youth, attracted to the extreme nature of the movement, but a number are from Bargetown's older generation, especially those pushed to the political fringe out of desperation.
When Titus Akron was elected Governor, the Ardorists were granted an auxiliary status in Bargetown, which they have retained since the suspension of democracy.
The Ardorists were incorporated into the GLA on August 3rd, 2165.

Mustered from all three corners of Huron—the frigid taigas of the North, the rural West, and the urbanised centers of the South—the Blood Bears are a unique flying column originating from Nash, made up of youthful volunteers, hopeful political activists, opportunistic mercenaries, and aged veterans. Their reasons for fighting are not uniform; some have taken up arms in a nationalistic fervor, while others see it as a means of uplifting themselves out of poverty, or perhaps as picking the lesser of two evils in the struggle for the Great Lakes. Whatever the case may be, the foreign fighters are under the firm leadership of the Kamentaja, who leads the partisans akin to a traditional Huroni warband. There's a noticeable cleavage between the youthful volunteers inspired by the promises of Lewis Muir and the shaken, spiteful veterans of a war bygone. Despite their unsure allegiance, the Blood Bears are nonetheless a formidable irregular force; fighting with an unmatched fury backed by an experienced cabal of Captains to guide the Huronis to restoring their people's honor and avenging the injustices committed upon them by the Midwestern tyrant.
