Following some battles, special medals are issued more unique than typical Conflict Service Medals and Battle Participation Medals. These have widely varying designs, and are often highly sought out as collectors' items.
These medals vary in quality, with some being made from melted-down scrap metal and others from semi-precious metals.

The Sandusk Sun is a rather large, iron medal with an unusual shape, trying to imitate the sun with some of its rays.
Many veterans have returned home bearing this medal, showing that they've managed to survive the Defense of Sandusk.
This medal can be self-awarded to any character who fought in Sandusk, including Sandusk locals and Interarmes volunteers.
These medals are generally mass produced from impure mixtures of iron and plated with semi-precious metal.
In times of duress, medals are often painted instead to cut down on material costs.
