GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Assistant roleplay, office work
Despite common distaste for the government, many citizens of the Bargetown population join in search of justice, fame, money, or simply better living conditions. These citizens—usually fitting the bill of basic pencil-pusher seeking a warm, cushy life with few hardships if any at all—are sorted into the role of the Understudy, relegated to a work life of petty bureaucratic tasks and stacking papers late at night in a dimly lit room for bare minimum pay.
To become a full member of the government, an Understudy is attached to an agent for mentoring. Many Understudies graduate from their pitiful positions in a short amount of time, most advancing in the span of a few weeks to a month, though less fortunate pencil-pushers might find themselves permanently following a Liaison around for the rest of their lives.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Repairman roleplay, construction work, outpost construction
Workmen are the primary labour force of Bargetown, focusing on the maintenance of the town and partaking in construction projects. They also act as a cleanup crew, disposing of bodies and, although somewhat rare, arriving after battles to clean up and loot before scavenger animals and eldritch pour in. If you ignore the hazards of a construction yard, the possibility of disease, and the eldritch encounters, this is one of the safest options for a government career in Bargetown.
Workmen usually don't graduate into full government agents as their duties stray significantly from a job in the Constabulary or other government positions, but talented Workmen might receive a promotion to Journeyman.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Repairman roleplay, construction work, guild affiliation, outpost construction, vehicle usage
Journeymen are experienced workers considered the backbone of Bargetown’s labor force, often serving as the primary contractors for both private businesses or the government. Moreover, they are also allowed to be affiliated or contracted by any major trade guild present on the isles. With this ability, Journeymen can complete objectives or set requirements for them to help further their guild's interests.
The primary difference between Journeymen and Workmen is that Journeymen hold the ability to open their own private practices which can specialise in different kinds of trades, including but not limited to various artisan crafts, blacksmithing, tailoring, and so on. Journeymen as a whole are not restricted to one trade and may choose to act as a generalist, as well.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Detective roleplay, police officer roleplay, criminal investigation, corruption
Constables are the unaccountable mouthpiece and baton of the government. Entrusted with the means to keep the peace no matter what, even if it harms the wellbeing of Bargetown's citizens, these uniformed lawmen enjoy extensive authority over all, even the Gold Leaf Army. Working hand in hand with their colleagues in the government, Constables serve to gather information on possible offenders, lead interrogations, investigate crime scenes, handle cases of minor corruption and generally force the citizenry to follow the law of the land. Due to their line of work, they are equipped with pistols or revolvers and sometimes even longarms, such as rifles or shotguns, during perilous situations.
Given their power over the people of Bargetown, corruption is rampant among members of the Constabulary. Their unending loyalty and willingness to do both their superiors' and the merchant guilds' bidding has granted them numerous privileges often unseen to regular citizens, especially with the added benefits of corruption.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Diplomacy, settlement exploration, criminal investigation, corruption, patrols
Originally tasked with engaging with the tribes native to the Sunrise Isles, Field Agents—once diplomats and anthropologists—have seen their responsibilities broaden with the expansion of government authority. Today, their duties encompass census work, investigations, and land management. Field Agents frequently venture beyond the town to interact with unaffiliated settlements and people. They are also encouraged to collaborate with Business Specialists to acquire land and resources through negotiations or swindling for the benefit of Bargetown.
Investigation has become another key aspect of their role. Within Bargetown, they work alongside the Constabulary, and while outside its borders, they conduct independent investigations. When timely prosecution in Bargetown is not feasible, Field Agents are empowered to bypass due process to ensure a swift punishment.

" Your business is our business."
ROLEPLAYED BY: [LR1]+
GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Interaction with businesses, requisitioning supplies and equipment, corruption, patrols
A large number of Bargetown’s government members are Business Specialists. Taking a two-month long course on trade and sales pitching, they are also the most charismatic members of the town. Business Specialists work with local companies and stores in Bargetown to allocate resources or request resources for the government and Gold Leaf Army. Aside from their duties as the Coalition’s salesmen, Business Specialists are often the ones to collect tax money from shops and merchants on Fridays.
No longer limited to just civilian economic concerns, the scope of Business Specialists have widened to those of the military as well. Business Specialists accompany GLA on patrols and tasks to observe their performance and equipment, empowered to requisition certain goods from servicemen and fellow agents if their equipment is deemed nonessential, such as weaponry, attire, and food. On the homefront, Business Specialists have been empowered to tax businesses and may extort them with the aid of Bodyguards, but may also do legitimate deals and contracts with them as well—the same extending to the many businesses outside of Bargetown.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Henchman roleplay, protecting other agents, protecting high rank characters, corruption
Among the echelons of Bargetown's government exists a position that serves as the backbone of security and protection. Given the frugal nature of Bargetown's expenditures, the government often hires those known as Bodyguards to serve as protection for important figures of authority and prominence. Whether this be serving as a guardian for a politician, or escorting a valuable person between locations, Bodyguards serve various purposes that make them much more distinct than their kin within other rungs of the government. Coming from all walks of life, from soldiers to former criminals, Bodyguards are among the toughest agents within the government compared to their counterparts. For when push comes to shove, their arsenal is anything concealable, leading most Bodyguards to carry handguns, personal defence weapons, automatic pistols, and sawn-off shotguns or rifles that can allow them to swiftly defend their target without making it clear that they are armed.
The duties that they carry out are often relevant to the political climate of Bargetown, or in rare cases, other organisations and factions. Although their name suggests otherwise, Bodyguards often participate in a series of missions and tasks that see them deviate from their standard duties every so often. These missions include partaking in assassinations, intimidations, shakedowns, espionage, and kidnappings. Many of these missions are often regarded as taboo among the populace of Bargetown, thus leading to many Bodyguards being bribed or placed on discreet payrolls by figures of authority for the sake of completing these illicit acts. Corruption is a rampant issue among the Bodyguards, with many of these men and women serving different causes and ideologies, which leads to many of these individuals often butting heads with each other during climactic riots or concealed operations.

" Smile for the camera!"
ROLEPLAYED BY: Winners of propaganda contests
GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: War correspondent roleplay, journalism, photography, patrols, skirmishes
Another unsung hero of the war effort and quite possibly the most important of the bunch, War Journalists are news reporters, photographers and writers from major newspaper publications contracted by governments across the Coalition to get up close and report on the current conflict.
Rather than working at a desk, a press conference, or a panel, War Journalists dive right into the action, armed with a ballistic helmet, ballistic vest and their trusty camera. They weave between hailstorms of bullets to get the best shots, putting their lives on the line to keep the Coalition's morale high and get the truth out there. The Coalition's truth, anyway.

" STOP RESISTING!"
ROLEPLAYED BY: Chosen [LR1]+ during events
GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Riot police roleplay, brawling, melee combat, close quarters combat
Acting as the riot police of Bargetown, Strikebreakers are notorious for their brutality and heads first attitude when push comes to shove. Consisting almost entirely of Constables who have received additional training, they are commonly deployed into vicious protests with ballistic metal shields, stab-resistant vests and helmet visors to protect them from flying bricks and molotov cocktails. As violence rises in the many protests across Bargetown, especially during election seasons, strikebreaking can easily be called the most dangerous job in the government.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Anti-terrorist roleplay, frontier justice, field investigation, police raids

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Repairman roleplay, construction work, leadership, heavy vehicle usage
Foremen are one step above Journeymen—specialising in management and construction oversight. They are the ones who coordinate a worksite and boss workers around during maintenance projects and other technical jobs, though, when needed, they are also the ones to utilise and operate heavier machinery when needed due to their experience.
Just like Journeymen, Foremen are allowed to open their private practices, often offering services such as architecture and project planning, construction advice, and resource management.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Government oversight, criminal and internal investigations, major corruption
Inspectors are Registrars who act as internal overseers of the government. They're intended to manage resources, keep agents in line to prevent corruption, lead internal investigations, or assist in criminal investigations if their expertise is required. With their focus on administration, they prioritise matters relating to the government, though, rarely they get roped into civilian and militia matters.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Gendarmerie roleplay, propagandist roleplay, major corruption
Heralds are the face of the Registrar Corps, and unlike Commissars or Inspectors, focus solely on improving the image of the Corps and Bargetown as a whole. They spend the majority of their time spreading propaganda and are often involved in civilian affairs, with their duties as being charismatic and inspiring figures, delivering political speeches, and rallying people together to help maintain order, not just through physical force but also through the power of the mind.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Special Storage Catalogue management
Although commonly considered to be a job only for the Sergeants and Officers of the Gold Leaf Army, Logisticians find their place among the Liaisons and Ministers of the government as well. Logisticians perform the important job of keeping the militia supplied by working with the Gold Leaf Army to maintain their armoury and Special Storage Catalogue. Not many Liaisons and Ministers are Logisticians as few of them are well versed in the field of logistics and supply, but you'll see them in the logistics office more commonly than a Sergeant with combat duties.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: Diplomacy with official factions, faction relations, interfaction roleplay
With so many warring clans and varying groups on the Sunrise Isles, Emissaries are surely one of the most important roles in the government. These charismatic figures specialise in diplomacy akin to a Field Agent, but whereas Field Agents interact with small settlements and budding militias, Emissaries find themselves visiting and sometimes even living among the other factions and major powers on the isles, whether the faction is a Coalition ally or simply uncontacted.
