5. Shoulder pain (& upper extremity issues)

The shoulder is one of the most complicated joints in the body, which is why it has such amazing mobility. It's great mobility (i.e. the fact that it can do more than just flexion and extension, to include adduction, abduction, internal rotation, external rotation, scaption, elevation, depression, etc.) means it has poor stability, and it relies on a ton of soft-tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons, cartilage) to hold it together. Rotator cuff injuries are common wear-and-tear types of injuries, as are injuries to the various tendons that cross other structures. Below are some general self-help techniques that can help rehabilitate and strengthen most types of shoulder issues.
