Hibernia

The Hiberian Tribunal is to the west of Man and is one of the three partners in the Partitio Monaviae. Most of the covenant's information on Hibernia comes from Bradan, whose uncle is a well-known Flambeau magus at Lambaird.

The Ordo Hibernia believes magi should be brave warrior-scholars who demonstrate good custodianship of the people and the land. Merenita and Tytalus dominate, but all the houses are represented. Their peripheral code includes many clauses that promote these activities. For example:

Wizard War is easier to declare and lasts for much longer (often indefinitely)
Every covenant is obliged to keep a trophy outside its Aegis; if this trophy is stolen, the covenant must get it back or dissolve.
Every covenant must keep cattle which, again, can be raided.
In their last year of apprenticeship, Hibernians are encouraged to travel the island on their own, raiding and stealing these trophies.
Any prospective covenant must defend itself against all comers for 1 year, before it can be granted covenant status.
Hedge magicians, faeries, and magical beasts are entitled to attend Tribunal, and can even vote.

Traditional magi from the Order in Europe have tried to "reform" Hibernia to bring its peripheral code more into line with the rest of the Order. Hibernian Covenants

Ashenrise: Founded specifically to reform Hibernia and bring it into line with traditional practices of the Order. Helles of Tytalus is Princeps.
Circulus Ruber: Oldest covenant in the Tribunal, home of Praeco Milvia, Visioturpis, the Presiding Quaesitor, and Archmage Busiran; Circulus Ruber is a stalwart upholder of Hibernian traditions.
Cliffheart: An old and reclusive Merenita house covenant.
Cor Draconis: A newly-formed covenant at the Hill of Uisneach in Meath. Alfeva of Guernicus is a young Quaesitor there.
Elk's Run: Home of the greatest Hermetic library in Hibernia, built and founded by the legendary Oswald of Bonisagus. Two other magi dwell here: Lugardis, a senior Quaesitor, and Igneous Drake, a Flambeau.
Lambaird: A covenant of Flambeau who live in the Irish style, they raises magical horses, hawks, and hounds for sale as familiars and companions. The Princeps is Dalton on Flambó, and Bradan's uncle, Brian Childara, lives here with his apprentice Merchad the Giant.
Mimisbrunr: A newly-formed research covenant dedicated to breaking the Limit of Time. Dalt of Guernicus, a young Quasitor, is also their Terram expert.
Paruchia of Nerius: A small covenant of Hibernian holy magi.
Praesis: Once a symbol of cooperation between the Order and native hedge magicians, Praesis recently fell in a protracted siege and is now a center for pro-Reform magi from the continent.
Qui Sonant Pro Quieto: The Hermetic cemetary. The magi of this ancient covenant preserve and protect the graves of Hibernian wizards.
Vigil: An old and powerful Merenita covenant.

There are two Mercer Houses in Hibernia. Leth Moga is where scholarly records and histories are kept, and it is led by the aging Diarmait mac Fergaile. Leth Cuinn is the home of Irish warrior traditions, supernatural fighting tricks taught by an ancient faerie.
