Sylvia was a weaver in Barcelona and was recruited by Petalicus of Verditius to serve as a forge-companion. She found him creepy and unlikable, but the money was good and she began to see the benefits of working for the Order of Hermes, where women were treated equal to men and worker benefits include things like enchanted items and longevity rituals.
When Sylvia learned that Ilius was about to leave, she offered to help him steal Petalicus's laboratory texts and escape in exchange for a ticket to wherever he was going. Ilius hasn't had much use for her skills yet, but now that he is setting up a lab, she expects to be called upon. She's also learned of the covenant's plans to sell wool and woolen goods such as clothes and tapestries, and she knows her skills will be needed for that goal.

Sylvia lives in a two-story wooden structure outside the covenant's earthen ring. She spent the spring of 1221 establishing a workshop on the ground floor, where her loom is housed. She lives on the upper story.
The workshop has an Innovation Score of 0 and Materials Score of 0. She can earn 21 Labor Points in a season, provided she takes only 2 XP exposure. Ordinarily, Sylvia would need to spend 36 Labor Points a year to sustain her standard of living, but because she is supported by the covenant, any Labor Points she generates can be allocated to Innovation or Materials.
