YOUR PROJECT/DESIGN: I choose Usain Bolt because I run the same events as him in track and have watched his documentary and I thought it was awesome. I was looking for an image with lots of movement so that the splatter effect would look cooler. When I found the image I liked, I imported it and turned the background black and white to focus the subject on Usain. This helps draw your attention right to where you want it. I also brushed the background with the burn tool because I wanted it to be more dramatic and Then I found images saying “Nike” and “Just do it” and I made their backgrounds transparent using the magic eraser. Then I duplicated the just do it and nike layer and went into the filter panel to make one of them black to act like a drop shadow. I placed the word Nike right above his arm because in ads, the word nike is never the biggest part because people already know what ad it is by their catch phrase and logo. Then I just made it really big and almost looked like it was laying on the track. I also brushed over the word Nike because it wasn’t as dark as I wanted it to be. Then I started on the splatter effect on usain. Using the brush tool and the dried blood splatter brushes and also many layers and layer overlays and liquify effect to achieve that look. Then I did finishing touches like adding little nike logos on his clothes and removing the puma from his t-shirt. Then I created this… Hope you enjoy it.
