Celebration Graphic [never posted] - Brock
For the social media team, I was organizing and managing who is creating each graphic and what content we will be making. There were 3 people on the social media team for this event. I made a document so we could stay organized and link everything together. We decided that we will be making 6 graphics. Each person had to make a player graphic. I made one for Mitchell, Brock made one for Sam, and Ty made one for Logan. Then I decided that we should create our normal game day graphic. Promoting the date, time, who we are vs, and location. I assigned that to Ty. The next graphic I decided to assign was the halftime graphic. I decided to design that graphic because I can bring my computer to the game and can update the instagram exactly during halftime. I pre-made the graphic and opened it during halftime, updated it, then posted it. Lastly, I assigned a celebration graphic for after the game. I assigned it to Brock. I think it was finished but I never got to posting it.
Once we were at the event, we all helped set up the camera equipment and set it out on the field. Then, for first half I started by learning how to run the replays and for second half, I went down on the field to run camera 3.
Reflect on celebrations and disappointments
I do not think that there were any disappointments actually. It all ran pretty smooth and everyone contributed there portions. Our teamwork is what surprised me. I was not sure what to expect with our group but it ended up working out very successfully. Even with the weather and the rain being against us, we still worked through it and made sure to strategically switch at half and keep everyone warm. We ran the show with just DMM students and Alex was even controlling the live stream camera switches which was scary at first but very impressive. I would definitely celebrate our teamwork but I do not think anything was disappointing or something I would change.
How did your group collaborate?
This was a very smooth and successful event especially for the social media team and the quarter 1 project team. Everyone was super calm and worked together really well. We were pretty nervous before the event because there were some new people and I had not done it in a while. But once the event started, it was super easy and smooth. At one point in the game, all of the DMM students were running the event. Everything from filming, sound, scoreboard graphics, music, replays, and the livestream. As well as the same thing I said in the celebrations and disappointments.
What would you do differently?
I wish the weather was different but I know that it is not something we can control. I would say that is the only thing that was bad/wish I could change. It was really cold and rainy which affected our camera set up and our camera crew switching. If it wasn't as rainy and cold, we could have kept the same spots the whole game but we ended up having to switch at half to keep everyone warm. Alex decided that we should switch at halftime for our camera crew even though it is cold but it ended up working well and less chaos with the switching.
