Our Quarter 2 Project was for a Girls Wrestling event (December 14th). December 14th, 2021, 5:30 p.m. @MHS. We had lots of team members their to help film at the event. There was actually a lot of people there and had a good amount of students as well. My team really didn't help to prepare for the event, before the event, so I was kind of on my own in promoting it (Amelia and I). I did a lot of different thing for the event, I organized, created, styled, planned, and published pretty much everything.
My roles I did for the Girls Wrestling Event
Girls Wrestling Live Stream Graphic
Wrestling Schedule (Informational graphic)
Styled and edited the information on the Spreadsheet
Organized the group by sending out emails for organization (everyday updating everyone of their tasks)
Worked on printing the graphic from Amelia (that didn't work-printer issues)
Printed the wrestling schedule I made, cut it out, and brought it to the event. I put it on my social media! I sent it to Mrs. Hirtz but she didn't post it until later, but it was posted on twitter and my instagram.
I have used my skills from my prior courses at MHS to create these things. Freshman year, I took BMIT and went into the photoshop pathway. That is where I learned most of my skills and also from trial and error. The sophomore year I took Pro Design and Publishing 1. This year (Junior year) I am taking Pro Design and Publishing 2 and DMM. All of these courses combine helped build my skill set. Now I am able to quickly and effectively make graphics.
Reflection: I have learned a lot from this event so I am grateful that I got to experience it. It helped my leadership skills and helped me grow to fix my communication skills. I am disappointed that I had to be the one to do everything and no one else stepped up to help me, but I hope they can learn from that. I collaborated well with my group for emailing my group and communicating what is going on but I never got any responses. What I would do differently if I was the leader is I would meet in person like 2-3 times a week to make sure that people are on task for what they are completing.
