Semina dionaea 2017 (ITA-ENG)

Anche quest’anno non è mancata la semina dei semi ottenuti da incroci tra cloni particolari di dionaea.

Verso Giugno favorevoli condizioni di fioritura mi hanno permesso di incrociare tra di loro tre cloni piuttosto particolari:

Werewolf (W) – Cupped Trap (C) – Bohemian Garnet x Red Piranha (R)

Quindi nei vasi cartellinati

con “W” ho possibili WxR o WxC o W x self

con “C” ho possibili CxW o CxR o C x self e

con “R” ho possibili RxW o RxC o R x self.

Per i “x self “ l’autoimpollinazione dovrebbe essere improbabile, ma c’è sempre qualche piccola possibilità

Il metodo è sempre lo stesso, quello che in assoluto reputo il più veloce (18-20 giorni), il più efficace (praticamente 100%) e estremamente pratico (nessun bisogno di “ripottare”) ossia la semina su sfagno fresco tritato.

Il vasetto una volta seminato lo metto in una specie di “mini serra” che permette di mantenere un’umidità molto elevata, cosa importante per la germinazione dei semi.

Uso la stessa procedura per la semina della dr. Regia con un metodo che è una piccola evoluzione rispetto al sistema del sacchetto che troviamo sul sito di ICPS

Prendo un grande sacchetto di nylon e lo taglio sul fondo dove faccio un risvolto e inserisco una sagoma rettangolare rigida fatta con dei tubetti in plastica della dimensione del fondo della bacinella “sottovaso” dove tengo i vasetti.

In questo modo il sacchetto “tubo” in nylon essendo aperto anche sotto offre la praticità di poter essere tolto velocemente per controllare la situazione mentre l’apertura superiore può essere regolata con la molletta posta sull' ”accrocchio” che sorregge il sacchetto.

E’ Interessante notare la diversa velocità di germinazione che per i semi “W” è avvenuta quasi una settimana prima, direi sui 17 giorni contro i 23 degli altri due.

Che ne uscirà si vedrà, aggiornamento tra qualche mesetto…

Obtained from crosses between three particular dionaea clones.

This year the flowering conditions have allowed me to cross each other three very different and particular clones:

Werewolf (W) - Cupped Trap (C) - Bohemian Garnet x Red Piranha (R)

So in the pot:

- "W" are possible WxR or WxC or W x self

- "C" are possible CxW or CxR or C x self and

- "R" are possible RxW or RxC or R x self.

The "x self" it should be unlikely, but there are always a few possibilities

The method is always the same, the one that I think is the fastest (18-20 days), extremely effective (practically 100%) and very practical (no need to "repotting") i.e. sowing on fresh finely chopped sphagnum.

Pots are held in a kind of "mini greenhouse" that allows to hold a very high humidity, very important for seed germination.

I use the same system for sowing dr. Regia, with a method that is a bit the evolution of the nylon bag system explained on ICPS site (http://www.carnivorousplants.org/gr…/propagation/sowingseeds) .

I take a large nylon bag and cut the bottom, turned the hem and sagom and stiffen it with a plastic tube giving the shape of the inside of the tray where it is dipped in.

Its practicality is to be able to remove it quickly to control the growing, to adjust the opening of the system and to cut the sphagnum when too tall.

Interestingly note the different germination rate for seeds "W" : only 17 days against the 23 of the other two.
