About Me
Hi, I'm Sabr!
I'm a professional starter, disabled, trans, cocreator, somatic & spiritual coach, and community resource & peer advocate. My life is a ceremony, and I'd love to share that with you! Ive been called a lightening rod; iMagnet. I offer Adaptable Insight from Birth to Death; Techniques & Guidance for Pain, Pleasure, and All the Curious Spaces In-between, merging science and spirit for a holistic perspective When people enter my space, processing is inevitable, and it's always been that way, even when I didn't understand it 🌻
For those who are mostly interested in education: I have studied communication, mediation, and peer support since 1995, began my teach practice in the summer of 2000, began mentoring with sprititual teachers in 2004, have practiced Craniosacral since 2005, and started offering massage in 2008. I began birthwork in 2013, graduating from a 4+ year midwifery school in 2018.
For those who appreciate some background: I’m someone who has gone through life with the special interest of humanity; when folks find out the spectrum of my skill set, it can appear as though I have jumped from one broad spectrum topic to wide varieties of detail specific topics. However, adding knowledge of one skill to another has helped me to become better at every technique that has caught my eye.
As with most of us, life has been a series of roller coaster ups and downs. Growing up with the blessing and privilege of snuggles and traded massages, as well as heightened anxiety and chronic pain due to genetic issues, I have always had an innate understanding that touch and energetic movement help to ease suffering in a drastic way.
Experiencing childhood narcissistic abuse as a neurodivergent human, I’ve honed my empathic (read clairsentient) skills to a sharp edge, which has educated my innate ability to feel physical pain, emotions, body language, and energetic under tones.
An introvert who, while growing up, was always considered odd compared to my classmates and others of my age, my obsession with the body, it’s inner workings, it’s functions, and things that affect it started as a young child playing by myself. As I grew, I began asking questions of my classmates; often of things that I had never seen mentioned, things others looked on as rude, too invasive, or “too much information” to most of the folks around me. As we gained a computer at home, and the internet, I took my inquiries online and found few wells at which to quench my curiosity.
Due to injury, chronic and genetic issues, and financial limitations, I began and completed 3 levels of craniosacral therapy courses. These classes were where I first encountered grounding, soul recall, and the concept that it is not the healer that heals, but the individual that heals themselves.
After CST III, I was told I couldn’t call myself a therapist unless I went to massage school, which I grudgingly did. There I was introduced to nutrition and plant medicine, which I have continued to pursue to this day. With the best outcome possible, massage school led to my (so far) decade long passion for and appreciation of Kanaka Maoli culture, and the gorgeous dance that is lomilomi. Continuing the connection of body, mind, and spirit, my ego consciously started the hard lesson of sitting down and shutting up as I began to move from saviour mentality to the place of mutual aid I sit comfortably in today.
I continued this important, connected education as I stepped into the birth world, encompassing doula skills, prenatal education, and the art of the placenta; I went to school for midwifery from early 2013-2018. Today I am not a midwife, though I regularly consult with folks in early and late pregnancy, as well as non pregnant people with questions ranging from concerns, to basic physiology, to pleasure.
Technically, this business started in 2008, though I called it Awakening Vitality until 2021, where calling myself an alchemist fit more comfortably than all the labels I have previously embodied. Explaining the individual skills I offer left me feeling disconnected and inauthentic; for example, drinking nervine tea is, to me, as important a habit to get into for those with anxiety, as using self holds, daily practices, mantras, and external resources to calm and recalibrate the nervous system. In this world that demands we pick a single detail and make it our specialty, I offer unique perspectives on ways folks can heal themselves and the institutions that are the leading cause of distress for many in our society.
