Hello, I am Alan Miklofsky and here is my story:
I am an entrepreneur who has created and executed operating plans over a long period, in multiple industries. I have profitably sold four businesses that I founded and operated.
My style of operating...
As a small business owner, I have learned when to take a hands-on approach. I am used to wearing a lot of hats. I've taken a personal interest in legal and banking, procurement, and technology. As I orchestrated the operations for Alan's Shoes and my other business ventures, I supervised individuals in their roles in various departments and roles. Accounting, E-commerce, Human Resources, Inventory Control, Marketing, Merchandise Management, and Sales are just a few examples.
I believe that CONSISTENT HABITS BREED CONSISTENT RESULTS. Therefore, I believe in setting goals and tracking results. Microsoft Excel is one of my best friends.
Industry Relations
I believe in NETWORKING. There is more to be gained by sharing information than by not sharing. I've always gained more than I risked by sharing. What I didn't pick up through personal experience and education, I've learned from other people in the industry.
I've served as a Board Member/Director for the National Shoe Retailers Association for decades, which allowed me to build relationships with both retailers and vendors. My reputation is that of a detail-oriented, numbers person who can also build administrative and sales teams. I am recognized within the retail industry as a good operator and I occasionally work counseling other business people.
What's Next?
I'm looking to see what the next step might be for me, whether it is running single or multiple business segments or an entire business, an interim position, sitting on a board of directors, or in a support role helping someone else achieve their goals.
