In 2024 we are offering this course in a blended model with most of the work to be done independently, online, through USP's learning management system Moodle.
Between January 8th and 18th we are running an optional in-person orientation workshop. If you are in Rarotonga during this time you are welcome to pop in to USP and see what we're doing to see if you want to do the course.
Sometime between late June and late July we will have a in person workshop that is obligatory to attend in order to pass the course. If you have circumstances that make this particularly difficult for you we will try to work out a remote participation option. Times will be formed up once enrolments are finalised.
This is a level five (1st year uni) course that can be done stand alone, or, as part of various USP qualifications including:
Certificate in Cook Islands Māori
Diploma in Cook Islands Māori
Bachelor of Education
Bachelor of Arts
And maybe more to come.
The fee is NZ$480 and can be paid in instalments if needed.
This course is designed for speakers of Māori but that includes committed learners who have some experience with Māori.
