My transcriptions

In CM211 (LL191) 2018 we learned how to use elan to make transcriptions and translations of video and audio.

The students had to transcribe and translate 3 minutes of a video or audio.

They had to make three tiers per speaker.

1: Transcription in Māori in the vernacular orthography

2: A translation in English

3: A transcription in Māori in the CIMR orthography

Transcribing in elan is a very useful skill for language documentation and increasing the number of Māori speakers who have this skill is an extremely valuable outcome from CM111 2018.
