Would You Feel Comfortable Eating Cancerous Flesh?
You should take a careful look at your plate.
Prayer Thought:
“We cannot now do as we have ventured to do in the past in regard to meat eating. It has always been a curse to the human family, but now it is made particularly so in the curse which God has pronounced upon the herds of the field, because of man's transgression and sin. The most aggravated diseases are now prevalent, and the very last thing that physicians who are enlightened should do, is to advise patients to eat meat. It is in eating meat so largely in this country that men and women are becoming demoralized, their blood corrupted, and disease planted in the system. Because of meat eating, many die, and they do not understand the cause. If the truth were known, it would bear testimony it was the flesh of animals that have passed through death. The thought of feeding on dead flesh is repulsive, but there is something besides this. In eating meat we partake of diseased dead flesh, and this sows its seed of corruption in the human organism.” -- Councils on Diet and Foods, p. 412
Introduction
Flesh meats of all types are unnatural food for the human body. Pork, beef, fowl, and sea foods are very likely contaminated with bacteria that can cause colitus (disease of the large intestine) and many other diseases. Substantial research over decades confirms that a meat based diet produces cancer in many cases. Excessive uric acid caused by eating too much meat often results in rheumatism, inflammation of the joints, kidney stones, gout, and gallstones. In many victims of severe headaches, which did not respond to any type of treatment, were quickly cured when all meat was excluded from the diet.
Some facts to consider:
Meat protein putrefies twice as quickly as vegetable protein.
There is no nutrient in meat, except vitamin B12 that is not available from products of the vegetable kingdom.
“Cancers, tumors, diseases of the lungs, the liver, the kidneys, all exist among the animals
Meat is an expensive second-hand food material that does not make healthy, pure blood or form good tissues.
The argument that flesh meat must be eaten in order to supply the body with sufficient protein is both unreasonable and has been proven to be false. Beans, lentils, peas, nuts of all kinds, and soybeans are abundant sources of protein.
Dr. Wynder of the American Health Federation stated: “It is our current estimate that some 50 percent of all female cancers in the Western world, and about one-third of all male cancers, are related to nutritional factors.”
As a nation, Americans consume more flesh meat per capita than anywhere in the world. As a result they have the highest rate of cancer (about 1 out of every 3 people).
The typical American style diet with a high fat intake and nearly twice the amount of necessary protein has the following detrimental effects on the body.
1. An increased risk of colon, breast, and prostate cancer.
2. Increased tendency for atherosclerotic buildup in the arteries, which leads to high blood pressure, strokes, and heart attacks.
3. Promotes the softening of bones by causing the loss of calcium.
4. Alters normal immune function.
5. Decreases stamina and depletes energy reserves.
6. High incidence of constipation, diverticulitis (disease of the colon), and hemorrhoids due to a low fiber diet.
7. Increases blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
8. Significant levels of toxic chemicals and drug residues found in animals before slaughter end up in the meat consumed.
9. High risk of ingesting parasites such as trichinosis (found in pork) and several types of bacteria.
10. Provokes allergic reactions to unnatural substances found in commercial animal feed.
Often times when we try to share with people the dangers of eating meat in these troublous times with diseases running rampant in the animal population such as bovine leukemia virus, Mad Cow, hoof and mouth, etc. coupled with the epidemic rise in heart diseases, cancers, Alzheimer’s and other brain diseases in the human population, some try to justify their continued meat consumption by a number of poor excuses. Perhaps one of the most deceptive comes from professed believers in the Holy Bible who will quickly parrot the text often given by their pastors or church leaders based on the reading of 1 Timothy 4:3 “Forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”
The first fundamental mistake that is made is the assumption that the word “meat” actually means animal flesh. It does not. Look it up in Strong’s concordance, the Greek root is the word broma (#1033) which refers to articles of food, especially those either allowed or forbidden by Jewish law, which is based on Leviticus chapter 11. Don’t forget to read 2 Tim 3:16, 17 if you are trying to get out of this by saying, “that is the Old Testament which only applied to the Jews.” The second error that is all to often used to avoid the plain reading of scripture is to simply take one scripture text out of context, which then becomes a pretext rather than a sound foundation on which to base doctrine. To be rightly understood, scripture must be compared with scripture throughout the whole Bible so that the weight of evidence can bear on the correct understanding (see: Isa 28:9-10).
What most people fail to do for themselves is to search for the proper context that the Apostle Paul is trying to convey by reading further in 1 Timothy chapter four verses 4 to 6. “For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.”
Know we can see that more than just articles of food are being discussed here. First, this “meat” in verse 3 must be “sanctified by the word of God.” Furthermore, it speaks of being “nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine.” Thus, it is obvious that a connection between meat and doctrine is being made here. That is, a spiritual rather than merely a mere physical connection is being established. Regarding doctrine, John 7:17 relates this point “If any man will do his [the Father’s] will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I [Jesus] speak of myself.” [brackets added]. Clearly when Jesus speaks of the faithful and wise servant in Matt 24:45 who is ruler over his own house and “gives them meat in due season” He is speaking of sound doctrine (present truth), not animal flesh.
Now let us make a very important identifying characteristic of professed followers of Christ as those who confuse the proper meaning of “meat” in connection with true doctrine. Let us read Romans 16:17-18 “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” Now it is clear that those who may profess to serve the Lord but whose God is really the belly, that is, they eat without restraint boasting that it is “lawful” for them to eat anything as they wish. Worse yet, they encourage others to follow suit by their poor example. Being totally deranged in the devilish service of their lower passions, the minds of such men are polluted with impure and immoral thoughts and are incapable of reasoning from cause to effect. Such individuals are a reproach to the correct religion of the Bible which exhorts us that “every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things.” 1 Cor 9:25.
In a related manner, speaking in his letter to the Philippians, Paul again warns to watch for enemies of the cross of Christ whose God is their belly. “Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.)” Phil 3:17-19. Obviously, these false teachers think more about filling their bellies with unwholesome and unlawful foods rather than giving their flocks sound doctrine. This is usually most clearly evidenced by ones who loudly exhort against the Biblical health laws, meanwhile they are seen eating every unclean and abominable thing while often toting about large midsections. Unfortunately such blasphemy against God’s word often results in tragic premature death or disablement in the form of heart failure, cancer, diabetes, or some other major malady. Obviously, if these learned men would actually read their Bibles and believed the plain teachings from scripture they would be spared such tragedies.
In contrast look what Paul’s letter to Titus tells us about righteous preachers in this regard, reading from chapter one verses 7 and 8 “For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;” And further in chapter two verses 1 and 2 “But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.” What a contrast to the blinded vain talkers who turn away from the plain teachings of scripture. Temperance in all things, especially our eating habits, and sound doctrine go together hand in hand. Listen to the council given us from the apostle Peter in regard to those who can’t properly handle the writings of the apostle Paul. “And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” 2 Pet 3:15, 16.
If you are struggling to know what the Bible truly teaches regarding your health and would like to free your mind from the confusion coming from so many pulpits today, go home and read the following scriptures and ask yourself honestly before God if He doesn’t have a Divine health plan for you (Exo 15:26, Deut 7:11, 12, 15; 2 Chron 7:14, Ps 103:2-5, 1 Cor 3:17, 1 Cor 6:19-20, 2 Cor 7:1, Rom 12:1, Gal 3:10). Ask Him to reveal to you the Truth and He will faithfully answer, just be willing to listen.
3 John 2. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
“A very serious objection to the practice of meat eating is found in the fact that disease is becoming more and more widespread among the animal creation. The curse because of sin causes the earth to groan under the inhabitants thereof, and every living thing is subject to disease and death. Cancers, tumors, diseases of the lungs, the liver, the kidneys, all exist among the animals that are used for food. Until late years we have never heard of anything approaching to the variety of diseases now apparent in the animal creation. It is stated that out of a herd of twenty cattle, the inspectors accepted only two; from another herd of one hundred, only twenty-five were accepted as having no apparent disease. The only way to avoid contracting disease from the use of flesh meats is to discard them altogether. Persons will do this much more readily if they have an intelligent knowledge of the dangers that attend the eating of the flesh of dead animals.”-- Manuscript Releases, Vol. 7, p. 421 by Ellen G.
