Realistic Fiction

Capricorn Anderson has being living at the Garland Farm for as long as he can remember. Just him and his grandmother Rain, who homeschools Cap. But then Rain gets injured, meaning she can't be Cap's teacher anymore, and Cap is forced to enter the real world-and become an 8th grader at Claverage "C Average" Middle School.

Cap is an alien compared to the other kids at Claverage. They find him stupid, weird, and just plain nerdy. Every year, the whole school elects the least popular kid as the class president, and he is forced to take on the duty; and many go crazy doing that. Will the same happen to Cap? Or will the joke be on everyone else?

This book is pretty good because first off, you get a good introduction to what middle school is like, and second off, Cap actually becomes the most popular kid in the school, because everyone actually likes his personality, and that's surprising, since most of the kids act like jerks. But Cap brings the good out in them, and really turns a band of bullies into an army of kind and considerate kids.

Cap may come from a strange place, but you shouldn't judge a book by its cover-or a kid.
