Clay the MudWing, along with his 4 dragonet friends from other tribes, have lived in a cave all their lives. Apparently, they are fated to stop the 19-year long war that has being going on between the dragons of Pyrrhia. At least, the prophecy says that. But the dragonets aren't exactly happy with their lives under the cave, and they seek escape. Is it possible that they could actually do so and live their lives their own way?
This is a very good start to this series, and I love the chemistry between the 5 main characters. At first when I read this book I thought it was too violent and scary (because of the prologue), but hey, there's a war going on and not every dragon is going to be nice! But later on, it's not that scary and it's really interesting to read a book from the perspective of dragons. Most books about mythical creatures are from the perspective of humans, but in this you see everything from the dragons' perspective. It's a very interesting point of view and a very good story. I am excited for Book 2!
Sunny is tired of being looked down upon by everyone. Adult dragons, the queens of the tribes, even the other dragonets, think that she is just so silly and playful and not serious about anything. But Sunny was always excited about the prophecy. They were going to stop the war! That was the whole point of she and her friends' existence. And it was all a lie. Soon after these horrible news, Sunny is abducted during the chaos in the rainforest, and embarks on an adventure. If the prophecy isn't real, that doesn't mean that they can't stop the war. And Sunny might have the answer to doing it.
This is a cool book in the series. It sort of echoes my life, because I'm pretty similar to Sunny. Everyone looks down on me, and I feel really upset at how...immature I am, just like Sunny. Deep down, I yearn to prove myself and surprise everyone with something that I did all on my own. That's the same thing with Sunny, and it's really good to see her POV in this book. It's a perfect POV for the end of the Dragonet Prophecy series. The dragonet who helps end the war is the least suspected one. Who would have guessed the crucial role that Sunny plays? I won't say everything, but the end is really exciting, and the epilogue is good, too.
You get a new insight on scavengers (humans) in this book, and they actually play a pretty significant role in this one. You get to see that they are more than just little creatures that go squeak squeak squeak and then fall over and die. They actually help a lot in this book, and I think if it weren't for them, the war wouldn't be over (that's not a spoiler, it has to end in this book). But in all, this book is a really good conclusion to the Dragonet Prophecy series, and while the series seems like it could end, there are still threats to the dragons out there...
Before she was born, Moon's mother hid her in the rainforest instead of having her grow up on the hidden NightWing island. Because of this, Moon has a secret. She alone has the seemingly fake powers of the NightWings: mind-reading and prophecy. Now that she is starting to attend Jade Mountain Academy, Moon must decide whether it is best to keep her powers hidden or not. Because a dark evil is stirring...
Moon is nervous about going to school, which is sort of like an average fear. I like how she's really nervous because that is like me and it's really cool to see all of the characters (the dragonets of destiny) after the war, where they are happy. This book was really good, and you meet a lot of new characters.
