The Shady Pear proposes to create a community orchard at the Silver Sands end of the Easter Aberdour Playing Fields.

The project will transform currently under-used land into a welcoming green space with 10–12 fruit trees and wildflower meadows. The orchard will provide shade for visitors to the beach, support local wildlife and create a place for people of all ages to learn, meet and enjoy nature.

The orchard could become a shared community resource, with activities such as pruning and orchard-care workshops, seasonal events including a Spring Blossom Picnic, Autumn Apple Day and January Wassailing, as well as space for informal recreation and quiet enjoyment.

It will also complement other local green initiatives, including the proposed Community Allotments and Sensory Garden.
