Join us at the next CAP monthly meeting: Tuesday 26th May at the Foresters Arms 7pm
The Aberdour Community Action Plan is a project led by local residents, working together to understand what matters most to people who live here.
This website is a simple, live record of that work. It will be updated as we listen, learn, and agree next steps together.
Nothing has been decided yet.
Co-created by local residents, through surveys, workshops, and open conversations, a Community Action Plan is a way for residents to:
Share what matters most about living in their community
Identify what works well and what could be better
Agree priorities for future action
Use local voices to guide decisions and funding bids
We want to make sure that future decisions about Aberdour reflect what residents value.
This work aims to:
Bring together different voices across the village
Focus energy on the changes that matter most
Build a shared understanding of priorities for the future
Examples of Community Action Plans from our neighbours:
Over the past months, we have been listening and gathering ideas from across the community.
This has included:
A village-wide survey (online and on paper), with 214 responses
Community workshops with local residents
Sessions with children at Aberdour Primary School
People shared what they love about Aberdour, what could be better, and their hopes for the future.
Across all ages, residents share a strong pride in Aberdour.
People value:
The natural environment, beaches, and open spaces
A strong sense of community and friendliness
A quiet, safe, village feel
Good transport links that keep Aberdour connected
At the same time, some broad priority areas are beginning to emerge, including community life, safety, transport, access to services, and spaces for all ages. These are still being explored.
The Action Plan will only be meaningful if it reflects the community’s voice.
There are many ways to stay involved:
Share ideas
Attend meetings or open sessions
Take part in future discussions
Help deliver actions later on
Everyone is welcome.
We meet monthly to discuss how to move forward. You can come to our meetings and be part of the discussion!
