Have an idea that could benefit Aberdour? Apply for funding through Aberdour SOUP.
The Big Community Pitch is a community funding event organised by the Aberdour Community Action Plan (CAP) as part of the Aberdour Festival.
Local groups and residents will pitch ideas that could make a positive difference in the village. The audience then votes for the projects they would most like to support.
A Β£6,000 community fund will be shared between projects based on the percentage of votes they receive, helping several ideas move from concept to reality.
Inspired by the successful SOUP model used in communities across Scotland and beyond, the event celebrates local ideas, community involvement, and practical action.

The Big Community Pitch is one of the first opportunities to turn ideas from the Aberdour Community Action Plan into action.
The event focuses on "Quick Wins" β achievable projects that can make a visible difference to village life in the near future. It is designed to encourage community participation, support new ideas, and help people work together on projects that benefit Aberdour.
Anyone with a suitable idea can apply, and a free Pitch Lab workshop has already helped developing some project and prepare for the event.
Beyond funding projects, the aim is to strengthen community connections and build momentum for positive change in the village.
π Learn more about the Pitch LabA βQuick Winβ is a project that is:
Visible and easy for the community to see or experience
Achievable within a realistic timescale
Practical and community-focused
Able to make a positive impact sooner rather than later
To apply, your project must meet these simple criteria:
You must live, work, volunteer, or be part of a group based in the Aberdour community.
Your idea must clearly benefit the people of Aberdour.
Applications must come from at least two people working together.
Β (Individuals and businesses cannot apply on their own.)
Projects must be community-focused and non-profit.
Send us a short proposal explaining your idea.
Successful applicants will give a 4-minute live pitch during the Aberdour Festival event on Monday 3rd August 2026.
The audience votes for their favourite projects.
The Β£6,000 fund is divided based on the percentage of votes each project receives.
This means multiple projects can receive funding β not just one winner.
If you already have a project in mind and other people who will work with you, you can fill the proposal application to be pitching your project at the Big Community Pitch event in August.
Your proposal should include:
A short description of your ideaΒ
Why it matters to the community
