The Community Action Plan (CAP) Group has now completed the first draft of Aberdour's Community Action Plan.
The draft was reviewed by the group at our most recent meeting, and we are now inviting feedback from the wider community before the final version is prepared.
This document brings together what we heard through the community survey, workshops, conversations and events over the past few months. Before it is finalised, we want to check that it accurately reflects the views, priorities and aspirations of the village.
You can read the draft Community Action Plan embedded on this page or you can download and/or print your own copy.
Some printed copies are available in selected locations around the village, including Aberdour Library and a number of local shops and venues.
We would like to hear from anyone who lives, works, volunteers or takes part in community life in Aberdour.
In particular, we would welcome feedback on:
Whether the draft reflects the priorities identified by the community.
Any important issues, opportunities or perspectives that may have been missed.
Information about local groups, organisations or community activities that could be included.
Any errors, corrections or suggestions for improvement.
Please use the feedback form below to share your comments.
Every submission will be reviewed by members of the CAP Group and considered for future updates of the document.
The Community Action Plan is not a list of promises or commitments.
Its purpose is to capture the voice of the community and provide a snapshot of our shared ideas for the future of Aberdour.
The actions included in the draft are based on the feedback gathered through the survey and engagement activities. Where possible, these ideas have been developed into practical actions, grouped into indicative timescales and linked to organisations, groups or stakeholders who may be able to help take them forward.
The plan is intended to support future conversations, partnerships, funding applications and community-led projects. Delivering any individual action will depend on the interest, capacity and resources of the organisations and people involved.
Following this review period, the final Community Action Plan will be prepared and launched during the Aberdour Festival.
The launch will be accompanied by a Community Funding Night on Monday 3rd August 2026, where local groups and residents will have an opportunity to learn more about funding opportunities and the next steps for turning ideas into action.
