Labyrinth of Memory: Borges & AI is a new media art film that reimagines the literary universe of Jorge Luis Borges—specifically The Immortal, The Circular Ruins, and The Garden of Forking Paths—through the lens of generative artificial intelligence. Using tools such as Stable Diffusion, MidJourney, Kling, Runway, and Vidu, the project transforms Borges’ iconic themes of non-linear time, multidimensional space, and infinite realities into an unfolding visual narrative. Drawing on Borges’ vision of the multiverse as a branching labyrinth, the work mirrors the logic of AI’s generative process, where each prompt spawns divergent outcomes that defy linear causality. Positioning AI as both medium and metaphor, the piece navigates the intersection of literature, technology, and philosophy, rendering fragmented dreamscapes and recursive structures that provoke reflection on the evolving nature of authorship and storytelling. By translating abstract text excerpts into a stream of algorithmically produced visuals, the film embraces serendipity and synthesis, constructing a speculative memory palace that extends Borges’ metaphysical questions into the digital age.
