Greytone Orbit

I’m submitting work from an ongoing experiment in fashion storytelling through AI-generated imagery, part of a larger vision: a series of digital editorials that explore imagined pasts and speculative futures through fashion. These tools have become creative collaborators, allowing me to conjure alternate timelines and aesthetics that blend myth and futurism. The project I’m presenting is titled Greytone Orbital. It exists in a space where the future collapses into the past—between planetary rings and a 1960s Jet Age dream of retro-futurism. The central figure is an Afrofuturist heroine navigating a world cast in grey-on-grey tones, where everything still shimmers as if touched by stardust. Inspired by the planetary spirit of Sun Ra, this editorial reimagines him not as a literal icon but as an energy—expressed through angular silhouettes, sculptural geometry, and metallic textures. The protagonist is a cosmic emissary, both divine, digital yet ancestral. The visuals, created with reflect the dimensional strangeness I seek in this body of work: striking form, surreal elegance, and a sense of something not quite earthly.
