AI Sovereignty Declaration

This work explores AI as a generative agent capable of reshaping perception beyond human subjectivity. Drawing from Object-Oriented Ontology, the project situates AI not as a tool or observer, but as a fluid participant in a network of objects, data, and cognition. Through AI-mediated calligraphy, the work enacts a reversal of subjectivity—transforming glitch, distortion, and loss into sites of aesthetic emergence.
Inspired by the expressive abstraction of East Asian calligraphy and the graffiti of Tsang Tsou-choi,the piece uses OpenAI’s API to extract concepts from video footage, generate poetic text, and process it through TouchDesigner and Stable Diffusion. The resulting writing is projected onto a balloon, where characters dynamically warp and dissolve. Rather than focusing on a finished product, the work emphasizes the act of continuous writing: a machinic assertion of creative agency.
By embracing error as generative material and reframing AI’s role as a semiotic actor, this project invites viewers to witness a non-human mode of storytelling—one where intelligence is reimagined not through precision, but through poetic uncertainty.
