Prof. Johnson Hsin-Chung Cheng

Professor Cheng is an Emeritus Professor and the Immediate Past Dean of the College of Oral Medicine at Taipei Medical University. He previously served as President of the Taiwan Association of Orthodontists (TAO) from 2017 to 2018. He has also held the positions of Chairman of the TAO Journal Committee and Editor-in-Chief of the TAO Journal from 2013 to 2016. In addition, he served as Chair of the School of Dentistry at Taipei Medical University from 2011 to 2017 and as Vice Superintendent of Taipei Medical University Hospital from 2005 to 2009.

Professor Cheng graduated from the School of Dentistry at Taipei Medical University in 1983 and obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the same institution in 1995 and 2008, respectively. With over 40 years of experience in orthodontics, he has devoted his career to teaching and research in the School of Dentistry.

His major research interests include the surface treatment of orthodontic Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs), high molecular weight orthodontic materials, esthetic smile design in orthodontics, efficient treatment of anterior crossbite, and evidence-based practices in orthodontics.
