we recored visuals of punching but lots of different types for example from the side upper cut or straight forward but not actually punching we we had to recored us making the punching sound we did this by getting a pillow and taking it in turns to punch it we also used a jacket to get a variety of different sounds. then put the visuals and audio into permier pro and merged them together to make it look like the punch is real. to create the neck and bone breaking we got dried pasta and crushed it bewteen our teeth and for the bone braking we got spagetti and broke it over a bin into small little pieces we also crunched up a carrot too as well as celery this gave us a veriety of ways to make the sounds and which one would work with the visuals i found that the pasta and carrot worked the best.
a screenshot from the punching video as you can see we didnt punch all the way but with the sound effects added it isnt that noticeable to the audience and it makes you focus more on the sound than the visuals. to get the shot we wanted we put a camera on a tripod and angled it and positioned the actors so you cant see the actual punch.
we first filmed a silent video of the action taking place then in editing we added the sound effects we previously made using pasta and other assortments
this was some green screen practice tht we did in prmire pro i had to use the ultra effect key onto the green screen then you can add the preferred background.
we made a short story revealing little details of a character we did this using 2 cameras and edited them together this was practice for the tv drama using a multi cam shoot
