diary 21-23 of November
this week we had to do research on our target audience, outline of rules, visual effects, legal and ethical considerations and the camera team me Chloe and faith worked on making the script for the live production we had to do one side where you can see the camera shots and on the right we had to write the questions and what the host would say. as well as go some rehearsal questions ready for practicing.
diary 28-30of November
this week we did lots of studio practice and Caitlin and ben had the task of doing the painting of the board's and they ended getting it all over the floor and the next day we had to get on our hands and knees and scrub the floor until we got it off which took a really long time. and on the Wednesday it was collage open evening for the year 10,11s me Chloe Caitlin and willow Nate helped out showing them all all the different equipment and how it works which was really fun.
diary - December
for most of our sessions we were in the studio doing lots of run throughs and fixing any minor errors that popped up for example if someone was off we had to find someone to take their place but most problems were fixable we were meant to have a screen on camera 1 but it didn't come on the day and it is quite hard for Chloe to follow matt without a screen so i decided that to swap our cameras so that Chloe can see.
thorough rehearsals I had to make sure I was holding the camera steady at all times as it wobbled a lot when you let go my left arm had to be constantly still and my right moved to change the shot size
problems- we ran into a few problems for example the buzzers, we wanted to have the contestants buzz in when they know the answer and we got some but there was an issue and that meant that we couldn't use them so instead we asked the contestants at the start of the show what their buzzer noise will be and as this is shown live and it is a family friendly show we had to make sure they would make appropriate sounds and we didn't know until it happed but on the day they followed the rules and it all went well.
the director wasn't telling the floor manager how the cameras looked which made it harder for me to know if my shots and focus is right i just had to go off the people around me
technical skills- I think i have developed my technical skills since the last project as I was just director for that one where as i was handling heavy equipment and i really felt right in that place and i quickly found out what all the different things did i wish now for the last project I did more of a technical role but i did help the cameraman at the time with shot I wanted i also learned i need to make sure to communicate as if u don't ask how the camera looked then they just wont tell you so i had to communicate through the floor director then she would communicate to the director I was also in charge of script so i had to make sure all the cameras were in there right shots but floor manager assisted in prepping the whole studio for the live show
