lighting and green screen
high key- bright, and shows little to no shadow , used to show a heavenly or angelic characters, often convey happy scences or comedies
mid key- can include shadows but bright enough that we still can see the characters face, common as its in between high and low which may be a more styalised look ,
low key- create shadows across the characters face often obscure parts , often used in horror or scenes with dark themes , mainly used to symbolised a dark side in characters to create suspence.
types of lighting
practical lighting- used within the scene eg lamp, fairylights
hard light- harsh line between shadow and light, can use difusers or flages to stop it , great for shadows
soft light- gradual shift from light to dark, can be used as fill light, add you to a subjects face , romantic
bounce light- a reflective pice of material, instead of using a fill light they might use bounce, more lowkey , softer lighting
chiaroscuro lighting - high contrast lighting, hard low key but you can have soft low key , no fill light
motivated lighting- recreate something eg moon light or beam from street light, sunlight , mimics natural effect
ambient light - not a type of lighting you dont create , any lighting existing , eliminate as much ambient light as you can eg if indoors close blinds, turn off lights , time of day
when choosing the role of camera for this project I wasn't to sure how to change my white balance and how different lighting to different settings i took some pictures of the settings so incase we stoped filming or changed settings then i would know what the right lighting is for that shot for some shots there were warmer lighting and then like these pictures we worked out the setting for cooler lighting to represent the real world
during the filming process we messed with the settings to get what we liked and what the director liked and then we took photos incase we had to change locations which would mean changing the settings. this is why we took photos to make sure they all matched up in editing
