"Stories and rhymes can engage their audience and communicate meaning"

On this page you can find our unit's learning outcomes, projects and resources

During our music integration with the unit of inquiry "Stories", we are inquiring into how music can be inspired by stories and also how stories can be inspired by music.

We are working mostly into two activities:

  • We are watching the story "Jack and the Beanstalk" and learning songs that illustrate what is happening in the story and reflecting ideas and feelings related to it.
  • We are also using songs we know to think of stories we can make up. This is helping us to start to develop an understanding of the key concept "Perspective" and how music allows us to have different points of view.

Here you can find the videos of the songs we are learning. They are all part of the BBC school radio project.
