As part of my Internship Programme, I interned at the prestigious Hindustan Media Limited organisation in their Content/Editorial Department.
I worked in Hindustan Time’s nascent digital segment, OTTplay. True to its name, their website and application covers everything existing and coming to Over-the-Top platforms in India. Before joining the company, I had no idea so many platforms even existed in India with an array of such exciting content. Not only has it been a learning and ever-growing experience but also an enjoyable one.
I learnt about the Content Management System (CMS) and how to go about improving my writing style with respect to the format and types of news I covered along with editing videos, something I have always wanted to work on in a professional capacity. I even learnt some new features of the software I had missed out on initially.
I loved the creative freedom the internship provided me with and couldn’t be grateful for a better opportunity to really work hard and learn how the media industry works after previously working in the publishing industry.
I pitched articles and wrote on the entertainment beat along with editing videos for various interviews the team, including me, took of various actors and directors.
I wrote close to 140 articles for OTTplay’s website and edited about 30 videos for their YouTube channel. I was also given access to their social media handles to share my articles along with scheduling other interns articles as well.
