Required Clinical Experiences
Required Clinical Experiences
Required Clinical Experiences are a set of conditions, procedures, and presenting symptoms that all students encounter via patients during their core required clerkships. Students track their encounters via a Qualtrics form and can view their log in either the Tableau report directly or through their MEdIS account (please note that it takes 24-48 hours for the data to be updated in MEdIS). All information students need regarding the RCE requirement can be found on the clerkship's Canvas page.
During their mid-clerkship feedback session, the faculty member should go over a student's Required Clinical Experiences (RCEs) to see if they are on track to experience the specific RCE items present in that clerkship. Coordinators and directors of the core required clerkships have access to the RCE dashboard in Tableau, where they can view student progress.
For RCE questions, contact Brett Weaver (weave333@umn.edu) or Dr. Holly Proffitt (proff022@umn.edu).
Students should meet the required clinical conditions at the listed level of responsibility via at least one of the displayed types.
