...recognizing youth leadership in green school progress
GreenStep Clubs are for youth to grow their leadership abilities and help schools make progress in their MN GreenStep goals. This participation type recognizes the importance of youth leadership in the school improvement process. GreenStep Clubs are youth led, and adult supported. Whether a school has officially joined the GreenStep program or not, GreenStep Clubs offer a connection for youth interested in the best practice areas of MN GreenStep Schools and a way for teams to share their ideas and progress across schools. A school may have more than one GreenStep Club. For example, an engineering club might want to take on a solar demonstration project, a science club might want to inventory the natural features of a schoolyard, and a journalism club might want to take on green school communications. GreenStep Clubs should be recognized and engaged by a school's official "Green Team," and encouraged to share project stories. Establishing and supporting GreenStep Clubs can help a school earn best practice credits under best practice 3.4. Environmental Career Preparation, plus any other best practices related to projects the GreenStep Club completes.
NOTE: GreenStep Clubs do not necessarily represent the official positions nor opinions of their affiliated school.

Process Steps
What are the steps for a club to become a MN GreenStep Club member?
Youth groups interested in supporting green school progress can participate in the program as a GreenStep Club. A club participates by creating a profile with a contact name and email (can be a club or advisor email), a description of their purpose and activities, and a description of which GreenStep topics they work on. As GreenStep Clubs complete projects, they are encouraged to contribute to MN GreenStep Schools Progress Steps or Project Stories that get published on the website and help inform and inspire their community and other clubs around the state.
