We are a group of students at Roseville Area High School (RAHS) who encourage specific action to combat the climate crisis. We are a part of RAHS Progressives, another student group, and were founded off of the work that RAHS Progressives started with their Walkout For Climate Progress on March 25, 2022. Our goals are to continue to push our city and school district to pursue our walkout demands, as well as push for action on the state and national level.

Additional Detail:

We are a group of students at Roseville Area High School (RAHS) who encourage specific action to combat the climate crisis. We are a part of RAHS Progressives, another student group, and were founded off of the work that RAHS Progressives started with their Walkout For Climate Progress on March 25, 2022. Since many of the members of RAHS Progressives are passionate about climate justice, we decided to start a separate subgroup this year to focus solely on climate. Our goal is to continue to push our district and city to pursue our walkout demands. We hope to take action on a larger scale this year as well, through advocating for state and national action. We plan to organize another school strike as part of the Fridays For Future international school climate strike day on September 23, 2022. Once the school year begins, we will seek feedback from our members in order to determine what initiatives we want to work on this year, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with other organizations through the year.

Walkout For Climate Progress

On March 25th, 2022 as part of the Global Climate Strike, approximately 600 students conducted a "Climate Walkout" at Roseville Area High school?! Supported by representatives of their district and the city of Roseville they marched from their school to city hall, where they gave speeches and shared their demands, one of which was for the district to join the MN GreenStep Schools program.
