What's your Major/Minor? Why did you choose that major?
I'm majoring in Computer Science at the College of Engineering. When I worked on a project that could detect brain tumors based on MRI scans in ENGR101, I became curious about what other cool things I could do with CS. So naturally, I took more CS classes and decided to major in it!
What courses are you mentoring for this semester?
I'm mentoring EECS 280 but feel free to reach out to me about anything related to CS, including questions about other EECS courses, internships, and careers in CS. I'll be more than happy to help out! Feel free to reach out to me by email (josephhhh@umich.edu). Also, check out Yuri's bio to see when and where you can interact with me through zoom!
What internships have you had? What have you learned from them?
In the summer of 2021, I worked as a software engineer intern at Nokia Deepfield. I worked on different backend data pipeline projects using python. I learned a lot of practical industry skills that I didn't get to learn in school. Feel free to reach out to me to talk about them!
What are your graduation plans?
After graduating, I hope to work as a software engineer for a few years and hopefully get a Master's degree in Computer Science.
Fun fact about yourself?
I grew up in 4 different cities--Pittsburgh, Chicago, Yong-in (South Korea), and NYC!
