With the arrival of the fourth industrial revolution and the rapid digitalization of communities, a digital platform is needed to improve society’s widespread sedentarism and lowered physical activity levels. The e-sports exergaming Tennis is a digital-based sports and exercise platform that combines active bodily movements with gaming interactivity within a virtual reality environment. It offers large-scale participation nationally through online networking, while also lowering carbon footprint and improving space-efficiency, since it can be done anywhere without having to be physically present.
This reduces transport needs as well as large-scale training facilities to accommodate large population expansions. In particular, e-sports exergaming Tennis has been shown to provide dose-intensive exercise responses and players can acquire motor skills that are transferable to conventional Tennis sports. It is an innovative, greener alternative to sports training that is more weather-resistant and portable in nature. This webinar will share new trends and findings regarding exergaming.
