This is charcoal piece that I produced in High School. It was entered into an art show once with the piece below it, but they didn't win anything (shrug)
It is a dramatic work of art that I aimed to show the depth of the human 'figure'. I think it works well with the medium that I used and the colors (or lack there of)The mouth is a very powerful part of the body that is used to convey our desires.
Charcoal #2 that i've done. And is the first time that I had taken the time to produce a realistic full face.
It is supposed to be a powerful artwork that represents the soul. I wanted to bring light to mental health by showing a person who feels broken and like they can't be their true selves.
In this piece I really wanted to draw a male subject, because before I had only drawn females mainly.
The meaning behind this artwork combines that of the previous two. It represent desire and also a subject with hidden mental health issues. He is a young gay man that has wants and needs, but fakes a smile to hide his pain and inner wounds.
This piece consists of of two different shades of green where I used water color pencils, watercolor, and and green ink pens.
I wanted to convey a since of new beginnings/luck and peoples ideas of what beauty is. I was excited to make an artwork where a woman is able to be beautiful without having hair.
This work was also made with watercolor pencils, water color, and a black ink pen.
It is quite special to me because this character has a whole story behind them. They have a kind of symbolic power that they keep hidden to protect what they love as they work to survive incredible hardships.
As expected this was also made with water color pencils, water color, and black ink pens.
I produced a kind of entrancing tone, the kind of feeling that one gets while looking at an amazing dance performance when you, your self do and love the same art.
This painting isn't exactly recent (but close enough) Its one of the only acrylic paintings that I've done, and it holds a funny secret . . The colors were inspired by Chakras
This is a still life oil painting that I produced in in Painting 101 this year.As a class we made an abstract sculpture out of cardboard and fabric, and each of us got to pick out what part of the sculpture to paint.
Also an oil painting done in Painting 101. We were tasked with expression our inner selves, and this is what I came up with. It has a storybook/stained glass kind of feel, where I tried to blur the lines between fantasy in reality. It also contains many personal symbols that represent parts of my life.
