Hello! My name is Braulio. I'm a sophomore. I like to play soccer, drawing, and listening to music.
My favorite two spots are in Jefferson Hall and Photography Lounge at the Art & Exhibition Hall. When I'm there on my free time, it's usually quiet which I adore because sometimes with noises I can't concentrate on my homework. I sometimes hang out there myself, but other times I have friends there to talk to which is excited.
I took this photo of a UIC student walking on the bench while talking on the phone. For the first time, I've never seen anyone talk on the phone while standing on something even though he could be sitting on the bench or walking on the sidewalk. Chances are that he might fall or not if he knows where he's looking. There are things that will be unusual on campuses when attending college.
I believe that claiming spaces shows us forming a space to show a meaningful motive to public places or areas. The artwork is a Chicago flag except that it's different from the real one. The flag has a black background, red stripes, green stars, and a gold fringe. This flag represents a positive subject to ensure to people that it shows meaning to ourselves as one.
Braulio, Yes! Your description of the flag suggests how, by changing the colors of the flag, the students changed the meaning of this symbol of Chicago. Do you remember what Ross said about these particular colors, and what they mean?
