My Happy Place
This place is in the Art and Exhibition Hall. The building is where I spend most of my time but specifically, I go in the sculpture room on the fourth floor. This is a very open space that makes me feel like I have a lot of room to work. There is also the wood shop in here. I love this space because I have all the resources I need and I have nothing but positive memories within this area as well as with my sculpture professor. This area makes me feel at home, and like I belong somewhere. I absolutely love it.

Spot on campus used for other intentions than what it's made for
Walking around campus I noticed various places used for various purposes. What caught my eye the most were the places designated for one purpose but used for another. The one that caught my attention the most was the Inner Circle. In this area there are many places to eat. The common use for the Inner Circle is for UIC students to sit down and eat food from the restaurants within the area. As I approached the Inner Circle I noticed many people in there, but what I noticed most were the people on the top benches sleeping. The interesting part is that this location isn't designed for people to sleep in, however students sort of designated it for a napping spot.
How are you going to do your project and what materials will you need?
We are going to the blue line and asking people where they are going and then where they wish they were going. The materials we need are two posters and post it notes for people to write on the post its and then stick them on the board.
Jane Adams Hull House
My favorite piece was this one with the puzzle pieces. I really enjoyed this one because it challenges my eye and makes every glance I take be different and sometimes more interesting than the last. This piece really filled the space nicely, and I really admired how this piece encourages people to interact with it and learn more about the history behind the artwork and they photos of the schools beneath the puzzle pieces. Just upon looking at it, I want to rearrange the puzzle pieces. This was by far my favorite piece, it was very interesting and well thought out.
Chelsea,
I like how your description of the "Claiming Space" exhibit focuses on this specific art work, and describes it in some detail. You suggest how this piece made you want to interact with it, and perhaps also with the history of school closures the exhibit is exploring?
