Financial assistance grants to animal owners in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties, who are unable to cover some or all of the cost of their pet’s medical care
Illness or injury must require urgent care, owner must be able to cover 25% of cost, owner must have applied for Care Credit or ScratchPay and been denied credit or offered insufficient credit

Grant program helps animals who need urgent and emergency veterinary care. The typical grant is around $200, and is intended to fill a small gap in funding that is keeping an animal from care. Decisions are based upon several factors, including: medical urgency, financial need, available funding, and eligibility. Follow Steps 1-3 on website to complete application.
Eligibility: Animal must have life-threatening injury or illness requiring urgent and specific treatment, must already have diagnosis and treatment plan from a veterinarian with anticipated favorable outcome, animal must be spayed/neutered, applicant must first attempt to find funding through their own means (see suggestions for fundraising), applicant must provide proof of income upon request.
