Tenant's Rights Support
The Student Union Assembly, in partnership with the Dean of Students and the UC Legal/ UCSC Office of Campus Counsel, provides UCSC students with access to free legal consultation services related to off-campus, non-UCSC housing issues.
Tenant education service located in Santa Cruz
Offer consultation regarding rent increases, eviction, repairs and habitability, security deposits, harassment, lease provisions and other disputes. No legal representation offered at this time.
Drop-in counseling hours - Tenants can speak with volunteer tenant counselors about any tenant-landlord issue. Counselors provide resources and information on statewide civil codes, health and safety codes, and municipal ordinances. Offered on Wednesdays from 10:30am to 2:30pm at Live Oak Resource Center at 1740 17th Avenue

The Housing Authority of Santa Cruz has partnered with the Conflict Resolution Center to provide a new resource for tenants and landlords. CRC’s mediators will act as neutral facilitators to guide participants to a mutually satisfying agreement.
