Transportation Program, Santa Cruz Volunteer Center

  • The program matches drivers with disabled individuals and seniors (60+) for essential trips to medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, and banks. Rides are provided throughout the County including Watsonville, San Lorenzo Valley, Scotts Valley, and Santa Cruz.

  • Two ride requests per week are accepted for senior citizens or disabled persons  to meet basic needs or get to needed appointments.

  • Call 7-10 days in advance of when you will need a driver.

SafeSpaces Parking Program

  • Parking program for families and individuals living in their vehicles. 

  • Individuals with a need for a safe place to park your RV or other vehicle overnight (7pm - 7am) are welcome to apply.

  • Program operates at faith communities in the City and around Aptos.

Transportation Program through Community Housing Development Corporation 

  • Transportation program provides grants of (up to $5,000) and low-interest car loans to working individuals and families in need of reliable clean transportation, which can assist with basic family needs.

  • Also provide assistance with finding the right clean vehicle, and provide you with the financial education to foster healthier financial security.

Eligibility: valid CA Driver’s License, must be 18 years or older, verifiable income (to 400% of poverty level), not currently in or filing for bankruptcy. See website for income requirements
