Private Student Loans
Note: Students are encouraged to check in with UCSC Financial Aid Office regarding any additional aid available prior to seeking private loans. Financial Aid also offers a list of private student loans.
No cosigner student loans for US, DACA and international students
Lack of credit history does not affect application
Eligibility: Currently be admitted to or enrolled in a school in the U.S. or Canada that MPOWER supports, must be within two years of graduating from program.
Can apply as far as 12 months prior to your program's start date.
Must reside in the country of your program (the U.S. or Canada) while you’re in school.
Program must be degree seeking.
No fees for origination, late payments or prepayments.
Earnest allows students to make $25 automatic payments while they are in school. Other in-school repayment options include paying for the accrued interest, deferring payment for 9 months after graduation, or making the interest and principal payment on the loan.
Offers rate match with other loans under certain conditions
