Honors in the Major

Department highest honors in EEB-sponsored majors are awarded to graduating students whose academic performance in ALL upper division courses which would satisfy upper-division requirements, and which are taken at UCSC, demonstrates excellence at a grade point average (GPA) of 3.8 to 4.0.

GPA calculations at UCSC (and, so, in the EEB Department) are truncated and not rounded up.  For the purposes of honors consideration, for example, a GPA of 3.798 would be considered a 3.79 and not a 3.80.

Honors can also be awarded by faculty to students who complete an outstanding Senior Thesis.
