Sitka field quarter is usually in winter of odd-numbered years, except Winter 2027.
Corsica field quarter is planned for fall of odd-numbered years.
Planned courses are not a guarantee they will be offered, and instructors are also subject to change. Have contingency plans for enrollment each quarter in both BIOE and non-BIOE course options to fulfill major requirements.
Courses listed in red will satisfy 1/2 DC for all EEB-sponsored majors.
FALL 2026
There will be an interest workshop in early Fall for the Spring Supercourse, BIOE 151ABCD.
Applications are generally due by late Fall quarter for the Spring experience. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required by your enrollment appointment in winter (for spring enrollment) to enroll in the experience., as it requires completion of 20 credits in a single quarter. If you do not have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 by your spring enrollment appointment, you will need to work with your college advisors to request permission to enroll in the 20-credit course. Check your email and EEB Advising monthly newsletters for additional information.

Courses listed in red will satisfy 1/2 DC for all EEB-sponsored majors.
*Name change from Acoustic Ecology to Sensory Ecology beginning Fall 2025. Fulfills same requirements for all EEB-sponsored majors regardless of course name/when completed.
BIOE 128L is by application only. Applications will be available in late Fall/early Winter. Application deadline has not been established, but is generally around the time the official class schedule for spring is released in MyUCSC.
BIOE 151ABCD is by application only. There is generally an interest meeting in the fall prior, with applications for the experience generally due around the time winter enrollment begins, even though it's a spring experience. Application deadlines can be extended if needed.. BIOE 151B is fulfills the DC requirement, but you must enroll in all four courses simultaneously. First pass enrollment only allows for up to 19 credits, so the final five-credit course will need to be enrolled in on the first day of the class. It is the student's responsibility to know this and to ensure that it happens.
**BIOE 155L is NOT a co-enrollment requirement for BIOE 155. BIOE 155 alone will satisfy any major Requirement Groups as outlined in the university catalog and your DPR.
Links to all applications will be sent via email and published in this section of the EEB Student Handbook when they are available.
