For UCSC Courses:
"The Degree Progress Report (DPR) is a student success tool which allows students to track their progress toward degree completion, at any time. The DPR displays curricular and graduation requirements and the academic work used to satisfy those requirements. Students are encouraged to review their DPR at least quarterly to see requirements not yet satisfied. College and major/minor advisors are able to assist in the use of the DPR." --from the UCSC DPR Website
Visit this link for a general overview of the DPR.
The DPR is dynamic in that it is programmed to fulfill requirements in a very specific manner--and to change which courses satisfy specific requirements based on your course choices and enrollment. To request a pdf of the slide show on Dynamism and the DPR as it applies to EEB majors, complete the form at this link.
Understanding how this dynamism affects your remaining requirements on a quarter-by-quarter basis is important so that you know which requirements remain to be completed in future quarters. It isn't as complicated as it sounds, and an EEB advisor is happy to walk you through this in an appointment scheduled through Slug Success.
For Non-UCSC Courses:
For students who complete courses outside of UCSC, or which are taught at UCSC but are not approved to fulfill major requirements, these WILL NOT automatically display in the DPR. This will include any approved UCEAP/Study Abroad courses or programs, or any courses or programs for which articulations or substitutions have been requested and approved by EEB faculty.
Students interested in these types of courses/experiences should work with an EEB advisor well in advance of planned study outside of UCSC to ensure accurate academic planning for timely graduation. Articulations and substitutions should be approved prior to your enrollment in the courses, and it is recommended that they be reviewed one full quarter before the quarter in which you plan to enroll.
Once transcripts have been received by UCSC and grades for approved courses or programs have been officially recorded in MyUCSC, it is the student's responsibility to notify an EEB advisor at eebadvising@ucsc.edu . Once this has happened, an EEB advisor will manually update the DPR appropriately/according to approved substitutions or application of requirements for major completion.
