Biography

Andrew Mendoza is an undergraduate student at University of California, Davis where he studies Human Biology. He grew up in a small town called San Clemente in Southern California where he enjoyed rock climbing, spending time at the beach, and hanging out with his friends. Andrew currently rock climbs in Davis and is apart of the Davis Rock Climbing club!

He gained an interest in the medical field ever since he was a child, and specifically honed in on understanding the anatomy of the eye. He grew a deep fascination in optometry and was able to take several internships to get hands-on experience with patients. During Andrew’s first year as an undergraduate, he conducted research on addiction with various medications in Dr. Ramanathan’s lab. He gained profound research experience and continued to frame his student resume. Additionally, Andrew is a tutor in numerous subjects including statistics, biology and chemistry. He is actively seeking unique opportunities to broaden his education and expresses excitement to see where his experience at UC Davis will guide him
