Monday 4/20 - Today we put our brackets onto our mirror and started drilling it together. This was done using "L brackets" so that we could put together our mirror from two pieces. This is the implement step of the design process.
Tuesday 4/21 - Today we finished up drilling in the L brackets and screws (yesterday we needed to bring more L brackets from home). On the side Radha and Rishi also started finalizing code and getting our project nicely wrapped up to near an end. This is the implement step of the design process.
Wednesday 4/22 - Today we started gluing our actual two way mirror into the wood. This had to be super precise and we had to be careful not to damage our wood. This was done with two people holding the mirror and one person adding the glue in the slot. This is the implement step of the design process.
Thursday 4/23 - Today we screwed in our monitor and glued in our speakers. This was done with extreme preciseness as our monitor had to be stable enough so that it would not fall onto mirror and apply pressure. We screwed the metal plate behind the monitor onto our slab of wood plank (inside our mirror) and then screwed that plank onto our inside of the mirror using L brackets. This is the implement step of the design process.
Friday 4/24 - Today Simra, Radha, and Ariana were on the Boat trip but this did not stop us from finalizing any finishing touches because showcase is MONDAY!! After we got back, all of us met up to secure the arduino and wiring behind the mirror and run some last minute tests. We had everything work nicely but our biggest fear is wifi issues. Our school has firewalls on all devices and this is also an issue given our voice control component needs to be unblocked. We added our last aesthetic piece, LED lights and then I (Simra) made the trifold board for our showcase. This is the implement step of the design process.
TWO WEEKS PLAN: While showcase is on Monday, in two weeks we will be done completely and have had our retake process. For this process we want to show Mr. Rojas everything we wish we had done and everything we could have done (given time, cost, access, etc.).
