Monday 02/09- Coming back from the weekend, we realized we ran into an issue with certification for the power supplies. The power supplies we decided to choose were not supported by district UL certifications so we needed to find replacements as soon as possible to be able to have our materials ordered again. Our team looked through amazon (our preferred vendor) in search for a good power supply replacement that was UL certified. Our goal was to have this done today so we could progress past this minor setback. This is the Test & Evaluate part of the Design Process. This setback had us evaluate our materials and fix/modify them to fit our district standards.
Tuesday 02/10- Today we had people come in to record the Fishbowl. We also added a micro SD card that we found because we realized we would possibly need it for memory storage. After searching through Amazon, we found one that would fit our last parts of our budget and would also have enough storage to support the Rasberry Pi. We also drew out the rest of our design This is the Test & Evaluate part of the Design Process.
Wednesday 02/11 - Today we decided to start with finalizing the wood. Our materials had been ordered and where planned to come tomorrow. Ariana decided that she would supply the wood, so our team made sure she had the right measurements. We also sent Mr. Church an email with our SD card which we would need. This is the Test & Evaluate part of the Design Process. We are testing the wood for the frame.
Thursday 02/12 - Today our materials came in! We were very excited and motivated to go through them. We decided to start by testing some of the items and looking through them. We grabbed our monitor and checked to see if everything worked like we planned for it to. This is the Test & Evaluate part of the Design Process. We are testing and evaluating our materials.
Friday 02/12 - Today we continued working with our materials. We pulled apart the speaker and also tested the mic and speaker. We also tested the LED lights and found them all to work sucessfully. Additionally, we prepared our wood to cut at home and made quite a bit of progress towards that. This is also the Test & Evaluate part of the Design Process. We are testing and evaluating our products.
Cut the wood plank for the top of the frame using the table saw to make a slit for easy accessibility to the mirror
Sketch and create holes for ventilation on the frame
Receive the dongle for Rasberry Pi and start tinkerering and uploading code.
