Monday 03/16 - We all talked to Mr. Rojas about the weekly reports and we continued to work on the design of the actual mirror. Simra sanded the wood and made sure that it was ready for building. This is part of the Create step in the Design Process as it helps us prepare our materials to be built later on and allows us to deal with minor obstacles ahead of time and maximize our time in class.
Tuesday 03/17 - NO SCHOOL
Wednesday 03/18 - We discussed our next steps to make the mirror including how we will attach the monitor, where we will get the wood from, and what steps we need to take before we start the final construction of our project. We also drew a picture of our final model so we know the logistics of how our model will be put together. We also finished sanding the rest of our wood and we will continue to CNC the wood the next day. This is the iterate step of the Design Process.
Thursday 03/19 - Today Ariana and Rishi sanded the hole created by CNC for the ventilation. We also received the perferation we will use to cover the hole. It'll have three screws that will go into the wood. Once the ventilation portion is completed, our top plank is ready for the CNC to make the slit. This is the Ideate step of the Design Process.
Friday 03/20 - Radha and Rishi tried to clamp down the wood to create the MirrorSpace signage on the side. This will be CNC'd and later be colored or filled in with paint. They also worked a bit on the code and the schematics. This is the Ideate step of the Design Process.
Two Week Plan: We will connect our pieces together to make the full model for the mirror, and we should be working on the code for the actual mirror. We also want to start troubleshooting for that week and make sure thata our code is working correctly. By the end of that week, we can start on the aesthetics of the project once the rough build is done.
